"Clinical classification schemes for predicting hemorrhage:
Results from the National Registry of Atrial Fibrillatiion."

Am Heart J 2006; 151:713-9

I➜The HEMORR2HAGES is a 11 items scoring system and aims to stratify this risk of bleeding for patients taking Warfarin.
One point is awarded for each risk factor, except for a prior bleed (rebleeding risk), which is given 2 points and the maximum score is 12. By combining HEMORR2HAGES with a  clinical prediction rule for stroke, clinicians can trade off the risks and benefits of prescribing anticoagulant versus antiplatelet therapy in elderly patients with atrial fibrillation.
